I know, when it comes to life and education, taking risks can be scary. But, if you let an opportunity pass you by, you are going to regret it. I am a senior in high school, and I am deaf. But, I do not let that hold me back. I represented all of middle TN in Washington, DC in a class on National Security. I hesitated at first on the application, but when I got the letter of acceptance, I was like WOW! When you get to do something that big, it makes you feel accomplished. I won an essay contest and had a chance to have luch with Paul Rusesabagina. He is the man who saved over thousands of people in Rwanda----there is a movie about him called Hotel Rwanda. When I met him, I was in awe because I met a true hero. I am so glad I didn't let that opportunity pass by.
America is the land of opportunity....so why let opportunities of a lifetime pass you by. Take advantage of them. You never know what is behind the door of opportunity.
Do not let an opportunity pass by
