How to save a life? Destroy yourself....

Little Billy is in the hospital and dying. His parents do not have enough money to get the surgery done to save his life; his older brother takes the responsibility to get the money in time my taking steroids and large amounts. The hope is to became a professional body builder and earn the money fast.
Megan is sick and will not be able to see Christmas next year if she does not have the surgery soon; her sister has seen many more Christmas then Megan and makes the decision to take steroids. She can take her college basketball skills to the next level and earn tons of money. Both siblings know that steriods are nothing safe as they can kill them or led to slowly destroying their bodies. Some how they find this act as being an unselfish act that can save someone they love very much.
Jack is only a freshmen in college but has a family with four children. He is not making enough money to stay in school, support his family, and give them a home so he chooses to use steriods. They will earn him tons of money by becomming professional. These are not the stories we read about steroid use and how it is an unselfish act but instead people use them to be selfish.

It is to become the best on the track and make it to the Olympics or to gain muscle fast to become a body builder or to make it further in a sport, maybe in the NBA or WNBA. To be the best, to be number one, and to some money is a large part in it but to some they just want to be the best or look the best and if money comes with it than it is just a bonus.

A argument was made today on if taking steriods was wrong or not and many, shockingly, answered that they would take steriods to save a loved one, to make life better for their family, or if they could get rich fast and than stop the steriods.

What is the outcome of taking steriods? Most of the time it is dark and bad as people who take steriods have heart attacks, diseases and life long problems. Some will die doing steriods without a warning others will suffer all their life with the reminder that they took steriods and it was a mistake.

Steriods are not something that will save someone or help a loved one. If little Billy's brother gets enough money and saves Billy, what will happen to Billy's brother. His attitude will change and he will probably become a different person. Health problems will occur and although Billy's life was saved another is jeopardized. How can someone say that taking steriods can save someone's life and make a miracle occur.

I don't see these cases as any different from the single mothers that work 2 or 3 jobs to support their families. It's sacrifice. How far are we willing to go for the people we love?

I see your point. Taking steriods is risky and will cause bad side effects. Is it worth it? I think so, even if it turns out badly. What about the mom who hardly sleeps or eats? Does anyone tell her to stop hurting herself?

The reason it's a sacrifice is BECAUSE bad things will happen to little billys brother. It's knowing the risks and inevitabilities of steroids and doing them anyway that make the sacrifice mean something. If little billy gets better and his brother has to live with the side effects, then older bro will live with the knowledge that he saved another persons life.

I would do it in a heartbeat.
