In San Diego there is a war memorial on Mt. Soledad. it's a very nice memorial but there is one problem it's a 40-ft cross, a symbol for christianity. The people that served in the war came from all diffrent denomenations. As a christian , part of me wants the cross to stay right where it is. Another part of me understands why people are so upset about it being on city owned land. The San Diego Government has spent 17 years and over $500,000 of tax payers money fighting to keep this cross in place, yet everytime it goes to court it loses. the Supreme Court even refused to defend it. the city has now been given 90 days top remove the cross and each day that it remains up after the 90 days will cost the city $5,000. Honestly San Diego is too broke fro that. i tink that the city should just move the cross and build another non-denomenational memorial.
