Reality TV shows, are they really reality?

Celebrities looking for love? Seriously? It’s obvious that starts like Flavor Flav, Tila Tequila, and Brett Michael are doing this for publicity. Their shows are top rated, for the high-strung drama, sex, lies, betrayal and fights.

As sad as it seems, even though these shows are “fake” they gather so many viewers. It’s unbelievable how many people tune in week, after week just to watch these shows. It’s also sad how the younger audience is exposed to these types of shows. For example, on I love New York – is her moaning behind a closed door appropriate? Yes, it’s closed. But, kids know what goes on…

But, back to the “reality” of it. Are the shows really reality? Is flavor flav going to the find the right women eventually? Will Tila stick it out with Bobby? Will Brett find a girl who won’t get jealous of his lifestyle? & Is New York going to last with Tailor-Made, happily ever after?

… or are we going to see more seasons coming soon?

Too me, reality TV shows should be corny. Like “My Fair Brady” – yes they’re a little raunchy and it looks awkward that this 40 year old dude, we know as PETER BRADY is dating this hot chick from America’s Top Model… but they’re show is appealing, it’s hilarious!

I’m still convinced that Reality TV has some sort of script behind it… I mean who just says it out straight, on TV that they want a vasectomy? Ya know? Normal people don’t announce it.

All T.V. is in some way or form scripted. Reality T.V is just scripted more on a promised outline and setups. sure some of these things are really happening but the limo and the expensive dinner and the cruise vacation are all paid for so whats stopping the family from going taking them if all they have to do is deal with some cameras? So reality T.V is real in the sense that thesepeople really are reacting, but most of the time it's not their real life.

It's sad... reality TV has SO much potential to teach people about how people operate and to teach positive lessons. Hell, you could mix in some scientific study as well. But it's just used for mindless silly entertainment.

Agreed.
And season 2 of Tila Tequila is coming this spring...
just when I thought they'd found true love.

I have deleted the two multiple copies of this entry so when you get a note that you lost 100 points, that is why. Should it post multiples in the future, just go to Edit and scroll down and you can delete them yourself.

I love reality TV and I've watched a lot of these shows. But it's seriously getting ridiculous and out of hand. How many seasons do we need to realize that Flavor Flav, Tila, and Brett Michaels aren't really looking for love?

And an afterthought -- it's ironic when we call these shows reality TV when it's nothing remotely close to reality.

Reality tv can be entertaining when there is nothing else on but I agree it is a waste. These celebrities are not going to find someone they love from everyday world on tv. There is way too much pressure and way too many fake people. There could be more educational shows on these channels instead of these pointless reality shows.
