where I stand...

If there's one thing I ultimately can't stand in this world, it's abuse. It bothers me more than anything I can think of. More than politics, more than immigration, more than gay marriage, more than abortion... all of which highly perturb me. There is never a good reason to physically hurt someone.

In terms of a significant other, I don't care if he/she called you every horrid name under the sun, screamed at you, threw things at you (which shouldn't take place anyhow), insulted your mother, and cursed your future children... you don't hurt them. You don't hit them, you don't kick them, you don't pitch things at them. No. Grow up. Get a grip.

In terms of a child... there's just no excuse.  A child isn't born perfect.  They don't know right from wrong.  You have to teach them.  And hurting them isn't the right way to teach.  If you didn't want the responsiblity of teaching that child proper values and good behavior, you should have thought about that before you got knocked up or knocked someone else up.  But now, they are here, and you made the decision.  Just because you can't do your job as a parent doesn't mean hurt them.  It's not their fault you haven't done well.  They have to be taught properly before they can act properly.

My mother works for Social Services, and I volunteer quite a bit.  There are so many children getting abused by their parents.  That bothers me.  And it should bother everyone.  There's just no excuse for it!  Seriously people!  If it doesn't hurt you to think about how many children are getting beaten by their parents, you are virtually heartless.  This is a cause where there are no two ways about it.  There is no exceptions.  It is wrong.

It's become so casual now-a-days, so common....  It's sad that such a thing can be said.
