Bush: War is costing to much! Social Security is going down the Drain! Record Breaking Deficits! No fear, tax breaks are here!

Poll numbers are the lowest ever for president Bush, with even fox news network having his approval ratings at 33%. After all, record breaking deficits and an unpopular war can really hurt a guy. But no fear, the Republican party is the party of less spending and fewer taxes. Well, they used to be. Apparently they have a new motto: Spend all the money we have plus some, and give the rich another 80 billion dollar tax cut, so when the democrats take office, they will be forced to unpolularly raise taxes because we fucked up. But they will get the blame for solving our unnoticed mistakes.  Thats right folks, Bush is giving another 80 billion dollar tax cut on top of all his other ones. This beauty is, guess what, for the rich! So top 1%, you can use trickle down economics, and give that 80 billion back to the poor. Because we all know that if you give the rich tax breaks, they will give more to the poor and the middle class. Ah what happened to the good old days when the government realized that the rich were greedy, and tax cuts are better given to the middle class and lower class that help biuld the upper class.

The Bush administration is known for using tax-cuts to "solve" pre-existing problems. I remember when he gave tax cuts to married couples and families with children, an attempt, in my opinion, to make people feel good while simultaneously diverting their attention away from the important issues at hand.

Since the rich pay a HUGE percent of the taxes, it makes sense that they get a break. Though, in order to give tax cuts you do need to cut spending.

I get tired of people who simply repeat things they hear. Think for yourself before you repeat someone else's rhetoric.

The figures I just looked up say that the top 1% are receiving 52% of the tax breaks. Even a middle school education offers an answer for this.

1. The rich make more. If everyone were taxed 10% of their income, someone who makes $1,000,000 is going to pay more than someone who is making only $50,000. Duh. Consequently, if the government offers and across-the-board 1% tax rebate, the millionare is also going to get a larger tax refund. Whine all you want, it's fair. Most wealthy people have done so through their own hard work, brains, or foresight.

Listen to this statistic:
"It turns out that the income tax burden has substantially shifted onto the wealthy. The percentage of federal income taxes paid by those who make more than $200,000 a year has actually risen from 41% to 47% in recent years.

In other words, the richest 3 out of 100 Americans are now paying close to the same amount in income taxes as the other 97% of workers combined."

Couple that with the fact that the completely fair tax cuts will indeed trickle down through the economy, and you have nothing to complain about. Your point is completely invalid.

By the way, Social Security isn't Bush's fault. He offered a perfect plan to fix it, and Congress rejected it. Blame it on FDR, who was possibly the worst president in history in terms of his fiscal policy.
