Controversy

I see that my first blog article created quite a bit of controversy.  What I meant was we have moved on from 1776-2007 and thats a span of 231 years and the whole equality thing is still not what it should be.  When I hear of racially motivated acts between kids or that we all have gangs in the towns and places where we live or drug dealers, I wonder why most of it is primarily african american decendents who participate.  Same with rap although Elvis Presley and Eminem are proving that white americans can rap too.  Why is being a white guy dating or marrying and having a family with an african american looked down upon?  Or why is it wrong for a white girl and an african american guy to date or marry and have kids?  If we are all human, why not make it acceptable.  Once we can all move on past color (wealth plays in too, but more along the lines of if you have money and others know it--especially the politicians/singers/etc. the police won't attempt to touch you for speeding or any other law violations).  Heaven forbid they do get in trouble with the law, it's all publiscized......and it makes me angry.  Why do americans who aren't talented or being paraded across a television and in every headline in 7 languages only get a 1x1 box in the obituary section and you get to hear about Britney Spears and K-Fed, J. Lo, Lindsey Lohan, The Olsen Twins, etc. and it never stops.  Even the guy who robs banks gets a 3x5 article about what he looks like and where he was at or wearing.....not a darn one of us is being treated equally and I was under the assumtion that "all men were created equal".  When clearly, we are still living 231 years in the past when celebrities' divorces get paraded across every newspaper in the U.S. and in 7 languages and we very honest. respectable, working class people who can't ever get ahead get a 1x1 in the obituaries, and I tell you another thing, I can't go into a bar a have everybody know my name.....it's not like "Cheers" (im waiting for that day)!!

interracial relationships are tolerated today. celebrities, even without an ounce of talent in them are publicized everywhere because at one point in their lives, they did work their butts off to get where they are.
