OMG,
The last thing I expected was for Chicago to win the bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. After such a tragedy on September 11th, the war, issue of terrorism, United States bid for the Olympic Games. US will need to open a bunch of visas ad everything in order to get the athletes in, because with the strict border like now, no one would be able to enter.
Personally, I think it's great that Chicago got the bid. Hey, I can drive to the Olympics. There is a controversy rising already because of the threat of terrorism. I dont think that its such an issue, because we had terrorists without any Olympic Games anyways. The buisness in Chicago will rise and United States will become an Olympic country once again!

thanks for posting this i havent seen the news yet today and didnt no. I live an hour away from chicago and will be living there next year so im really excited! i can probably walk to the olympics if im still living up there after college.

That's pretty cool, being able to go to the Olympics due to their close proximity. I have my own excitement for 2008 with the Olympic Swimming Trials coming to Omaha. That's only about an hour and a half from where I live, so more than likely, I'll try and get off of work for the week and go watch the meet.
