These are simply a few observations I made during four years worth of high school. You may find yourself thinking some of the same things.
1. No one will notice or care about your dirty shoes or the stain on your shirt unless you keep pointing it out.
2. No one will take you seriously if you overuse the word “like”. Except maybe Paris Hilton.
3. Stop checking your makeup and hair in the mirror. Seriously, it’s driving me buggy. Nobody but you even cares that you could have another quarter inch layer of foundation on.
4. Assumptions are annoying. Don’t assume that everyone will immediately get a license at sixteen, have the same interests, or like the same bands. Just don’t assume.
5. It is important to stay away from another girls’ purse. Purses are portable black vortexes that suck up anything within inches of it’s opening, and therefore you may get lost.
6. Boyfriends/girlfriends are not required accessories for high school life.
7. It is not socially proper to date a new person every week.
8. The Prom is overrated. Very much so. The food is pretty good though.
9. The drama is killing me, people. Get over yourselves and realize how stupid you look fretting over a Math test or a guy or what someone said. Everything’s gonna seem insignificant in a few years anyway.
10. Sometimes that weird, insecure, unpopular kid just needs a friend. Can you be that friend?

I especially like number eight. I bet there could be a boat load more of these...
Yeah, I bet I could do a whole 'nother list. I might, eventually. I'm chock full of random tidbits of wisdom. At least, that's how I think of it.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
You pretty much nailed the things that annoyed me most about high school. Once people start to realize the little things don't matter, it's so much easier to be happier in general. Number 10 is my favorite, I don't understand the social stigmas that tend to define who people hang out with and it's refreshing to hear that other people out there care as well! Hopefully we can all make the difference.
I like the second half of the list the most. I don't know if you meant it that way, but there's a building greatness in your list. I guess teens have to conquer the small things like dirty shoes and makeup use so they can get to the more important lessons of how the world will not end if they get a bad grade or talk to someone who's unpopular.

Yes, I did intentionally make the lessons greater as it goes on. I'm glad you liked it!

Might I add another one.
11. Your wonderful popularity and cheerleading skills stay in highschool. You can tell everyone all you want that you were popular but it will not matter.
The main thing I am trying to get to here is that people want to live through their highschool years like they matter so much. Like at a highschool reunion yes you may have been prom queen but it does not matter now. Not sure if you understand or not.
Romy & michelle Highschool reunion. A good example.
Great blog though great things that you stated. I like the makeup on it drove me NUTS!
Ooh, that's a good one to add to the list. It really is true. After high school, you practically have to start all over again.
