Homes for the homeless

There are so many homeless people today, who are dying from being in the cold too long and not having food to eat. The government should use money to help them by building homes for them where they can live. Otherwise, they could give them vacant buildings to live in for a small fee. Young people today can't afford to live on Long Island because houses are too expensive. Also, the rent is too high too. Soon, there will be less young people living on Long Island and in New York because it costs too much.
What about habitat for humanity? They build homes for people. Maybe they could build homes for homeless people. There are plenty of students at trade schools like BOCES, who need the experience in construction of building houses. Building homes for the homeless would be good practice for students and it would help get the homeless off the streets. The government is helping families to get tax relief, why can't the government help people get homes for the homeless people? There are so many foreclosures today. Why can't the government use these foreclosures to help the homeless live somewhere warm and safe? If the President cared about our country, then he would put his efforts, money and time into helping homeless people.
