Just kidding. But they have hacked into the Pentagon’s computers. And Germany’s computers. Well, allegedly anyways. According to them, we’re making it up. When I heard that I had fun picturing a bunch of old guys at the Pentagon sitting around saying, “You know what would be fun – let’s accuse the Chinese of hacking into our computers today. That’ll show ‘em…something…”
Seriouslly though, why do the Chinese bother saying it wasn’t them? Does anyone really believe them? And if you’re about to comment that you do because of US Imperialism or something – save yourself a little dignity. We could go after China for a lot more than looking at General Petraeus’s buddy list if we wanted to – we just don’t have the guts or the economic ability to.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if China just said, “yeah, we did it. We’re sorry we did, or at least, sorry you caught us.” What would we do? Iran has practically admitted to building bombs and we’re still hitting them with just some pretty weak sanctions. China could hack into our system fifty times before we even got a little angry about it.
You really wonder who some people think they’re fooling. Senator Craig. China. Why don’t people ever own up – even when they have nothing to lose?
