I need to get away from all that is me, but I cannot separate. If only somehow I could jump into my shadow and hide in the darkness of this world... And go to the secret spots that only shadows go. Alas, I cannot, for my shadow is tethered to me. Such is why I can truly be free only in the darkness of this world, where my enemy, the sun, cannot touch me.
And yet, my shadow is the only thing in life I can count on to never leave my side.

The points of this entry are:
-I wrote the paragraph two years ago on a night when I was feeling down; it's how I felt at the time. I am not emo - I'm the biggest former band nerd you'll ever meet. :o)
-Everyone has the right to free speech. I spoke my mind; it matters not what you think. I find it hilarious about how you managed to misjudge me completely. I am not even male as someone (was it you?) said.
-Writing is writing - it comes from the writer's heart. Does it all need to make sense to everybody? No. In fact, it was your choice to read the post in the first place. If you thought it was crap, why even leave a comment? Why not just move on to the next post like normal people do?

Hey, way to pigeonhole! I'm sure that was this blogger's hope in sharing their doubts in a slightly more intelligent way than many people do. I know that emo kids are definitely the only people who feel doubtful and hopeless sometime. I really admire it when people devalue other's feelings, especially in what would be an emotionally and intellectually accepting environment. Way to go! Oh, sorry, did I drip sarcasm on you? seriously though, don't encourage this kind of behavior. it's bad enough that the media has given the socially inept an identity. america is supposed to be a role model for the world.

And what kind of role model are YOU, as an American, condemning another's free speech? I'm pretty sure that the faceless women in Iran would do anything to express their anguish without punishment. I never realized that expressing yourself means that you're a whining sissy. I also never realized that one who does not even care enough write with correct grammar and punctuation is an authority to tell ANYONE what kind of "behavior" to encourage or evaluate ANYONE'S writing. But, it's a free country. You have a right to your closed-minded opinion.

I'm amazed. The most bigoted posters on this website have finally crossed the line from being bigoted pigs to being cyber-bullies. Way to go, guys. I apologize if I sound bigoted. I was trying to defend you, Bedrinm, or at least that was my intent. It really bugs me that some people on this website simply disagree with things just because they don't like them, or because of preconceived notions about the blogger (i.e., "emo," "socially inept"). If someone don't have anything nice, or at least evidentially supported and intelligently and tactfully presented, to say, then I wish they would please refrain from comment.
