I just got off the phone with my sister. Sad news from the home-front. A boy from our home town was severely beaten because his older brother came out of the closet this past week.
First off, let me explain, that I’m not from some huge metropolitan area where crime runs ramped. I grew up in a tiny little town. Population 300.
What I want to know is: Why does it matter?? Who cares if a person is gay or straight? Why would someone want to beat up a defenseless boy just because his older brother decided he was gay?! Who cares. If someone wants to pair up with someone of the same sex, that is their prerogative.
I know, I know….it’s not what God wants. But, there are a lot of other things people do an a daily basis that is against what God wants too. People aren’t getting beaten because someone’s older brother is having pre-marital sex! WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?!

I just got finished writing a blog on what you said. There are better things we could be doing with out time then hurting other human beings. If the world let in a little bit more love, there would be a lot less worry and a lot more happiness. As hippie as that sounds, it's so simple. But unfortunately I don't think it is something that we will ever achieve.
I agree that it's probably a long shot to think this world would ever stop long enough to evaluate their actions. I guess I just don't understand why it would ever occur to a person to beat another human being over something so trivial.
A crime for a supposed crime. What is the world coming to when boys think it is ok to beat someone up for their choices in life. I bet those boys wouldn’t beat their friend up for cheating on their wife or girlfriend. But when someone is true to themselves they call them a sinner. If god didn’t want gays to exist he wouldn’t have made them!!
Why is it socially acceptable that husband's and wives can lie and cheat on eachother and, yet, so wrong when a person comes out and asks to be accepted for what he/she really is?
wow i can't believe some of things that go on in this world these days. this is a sad story, but there are things in the world that happen like this everyday, sadly. this world is such a cruel place.
I completely agree. Earlier today I posted a blog regarding the treatment of gays and how disparaging it can be. It's horrible that we can live in a world where when someone is beaten, another man can say, "Good riddance." Just because the person who was beaten, happened to be gay.
That's pathetic to attack someone for such a stupid reason. We have a very messed up way of dealing with things
