TomorrowToday Explained

TomorrowToday's picture

This website is called ProgressiveU. Fairly self-evident in title. Here, members take the time to think inside and outside of the contexts of what society is facing today and how that will affect our tomorrow.

Wait a minute... facing today, affect tomorrow...that sounds familiar... Of course, reminiscent of my chosen name: TomorrowToday. The very name I selected defines the very meaning of progress. What happens tomorrow is directly related to the activities and policies that are permitted today. Progress is the realization of such a truth and thinking carefully of the consequences of choices.

Need something more Webster style? Try this on for size:

Progress: (verb) to extend forward; (noun) movement; (adj) to be in motion.

Therefore, the progress was progressing in progress. We are the progress. Yes, we are a movement of individuals to discuss and debate to seek an understanding of the world around us. We are progressing through blogging toward a future goal of understanding and tolerating each other for the common good. And, of course, this goal is in progress of becoming a reality.

Granted, not everyone sees this site the same as I do and I can think of many blogs and comments that go against my belief that we are progressing towards understanding and tolerance. But then again all issues must come to a head to be heard and accepted. If we are quiet in our intolerance it will never change, but we are here to express opinions and problems and duke it out. Only then can all sides be heard, churn in the psyche of society, and succeed in changing.

As a whole, we are in fact progressive, even in our most negative moments. Those who are successful on this site have open minds that, even when they disagree, at least take the time to know why they disagree and why the other side just might disagree with them. Together or apart, divided or unified, ProgressiveU is simply a manifestation of the progressivism that is constantly keeping civilization on the road to the future.
