So after I got off work and went to see my grandparents my grandma was watching the maury show(in case you dont know its a talk show) anyways he was talking about would you take the blame for something your child did and go to jail?Most in the audience said no.But the few who said yes they would go to jail and take the blame said well they are my child and i love them no matter what they do i have lived my life and its time for them to do the same well the others said that they loved their child and that its their son or daughter and they would do anything for them. In most cases yes. Well this father of three girls ended up going to court because his three daughters all said that he raped them and touched them. The dad was basically crying the whole show but who can blame him? Im sure prison cant be fun but for those who dont know child molestors go through hell in prison. And thats even what maury said. And the dad said its not the fact that he had to sit in jail for 10 years and 7 months that hurt him, its the fact that his 3 little girls went on trial and all said the same thing. Now he was sentenced to 30 years to life. But after he went to jail a week after the trial the girls all changed there story. What would make a child do that.And the sad thing is that he knows he didnt do anything wrong but he did that much time and was finally released.So not only did he suffer but those 3 girls are going to suffer for the rest of their life not only did they make that up and send their dad to prison but they knew it was all made up a lie. And after he went to jail the ended up in foster home.So i wonder how their life would have been different if they hadnt done that?But i know that i would never ever be able to forgive myself for doing something like that to my father.

That's incredible and I can hardly swallow it. I've heard plenty of stories about horribly selfish actions on the part of parents, but have never thought about things like that in reverse. The worst part is, because of all the corruption and sickness invovled with lying child molesters, I doubt he could have defended himself without looking like he was just desperate to escape jail time. Not unless there was indeniable proof, like he had an alibi or the girls didn't live with him at the time of the cases.
There was another story I read about, maybe a year or two ago, about a man who had been in prison for a long time (10+ years) because his daughter claimed that he had sexually abused her. There was absolutely no physical evidence. When she became an adult, she came out and said that it wasn't true, claiming that her mother had made her say it. Even after that, he wasn't freed from prison. It's really tragic that our justice system allows people to be persecuted for stories (lies) with no evidence except someone's story.

A LOT of victims of rape or abuse later retract their stories due to pressure from their family and friends, or from friends and family of the accused. I would not be surprised if this was the case - that they felt that they had deserved the rapes, or were simply pressured into taking it back.
Why would three young girls get together and make up an elaborate story about their FATHER, go to court, testify in court, etc, etc... unless it was true?
revenge (as someone mentioned) being used by a family member (someone mentioned a similar story), or plain old just being kids, but taking it too far. You seem to be completely adamnant about proving these girls' innocence.
I think it's doubtful that they lied. Possibly but unlikely.

Well it was true that he was innocent I think that the mother had something to do with it. But whats said is that the girls knew they were lying because after he went to jail 2 weeks later they changed their stories!
...so? Perhaps they had a reason to change the story. Doesn't mean they were lying.
Well as far as the show went they said that they lied and that he never did it.thats why he got out after ten years because he was innocent

There are plenty of reasons for them to tell the truth and then say they had lied. I don't see ANY reason for them to have lied to such an extent in the first place. O.o
There's no proof that you didn't kill someone, but that doesn't mean that it actually happened that way.

I think this is a very sensitive subject and everyone has different views on it. My opinion is that the girls may have lied because they were mad at their dad or something like that. But if they are coming back 10yrs later and saying they made it all up they probably are telling the truth. Its 10yrs later they have nothing to loose 10yrs later, they all ready lost those 10yrs with their father. So he probably was innocent and this was a case of children being selfish and not thinking before speaking. If you just yell the word rape you can ruin a person’s life
If the father is out of jail 10 years later, he could be pressuring them to retract the story. I'm sure they got tired of hearing about the event day after day.

Its like the boy who cried wolf how can you ever be sure when people are telling the truth?im not saying that you should ignore 3 little girls saying that their dad raped them because you never know people are sick.
Charges of rape are basically cost-free to make and almost impossible to disprove. Many, many innocent people are languishing in prison because of false accusations, and we ought to start speaking out on that issue if we are going to call ourselves progressives.
They're also almost impossible to prove, hence there's also many, many rapists running around free, far more than innocents.
I thought those girls were mean to lie that their father raped them, even though he didn't. Why would they lie and let their father go to prison because didn't they love and like their father? Because since I still love and like my father, I would never do those things to him.
