Media to blame?

Mmkay, well. We all know that not all us in the U.S. supports Bush's decision to be in Iraq. We've all seen and heard about the protests against the war, and I just think and wonder how during all the other wars America was supportive about being in them, not to mentions supportive of their president. It especially gets me thinking when the fact that we as a country has lost way more men in the past wars than the one were engaged in now, yet back then there wasn't as big of an uproar as there is now. Add the development of media and technology into the mix, and it all comes together. Back in the day during WWI and WWII there wasn't much of both, not to say the people were ignorant to what was going on during the wars, but they didn't have the cold hard truth staring at them through their child's eyes. Now, everytime we turn around there's some kind of video or photographs of what's goind on in Iraq. The media exposes every aspect of war, even the gruesomest things. Also the media, according to what the broadcaster's views of it, can throw their opinion, whether against it or for it, at the public being able to sway peoples opinion. The media has the power to turn the nation for or against the president, that's a pretty big thing. So i just want to know what are other peoples thoughts, will the media turn the country against one another?

People have the ability to turn off the media. It is similar to asking if there are "bad" books. I think that the media simply tries to make money, and sometimes even tries to do it's job. People have the ability to reason and do what they will do, regardless of how many commericals.
