GO USA!!!!! That’s usually what you hear from people about the war in Iraq. GO USA!!! We are winning. YAY! But is that really true? Are we really winning the war in Iraq or is that just the governments cover for everything that is going wrong? Now I’m as American as the next person, born and raised. And I fully support what my country believes to be the right thing, but sometimes I have to wonder, is everything they do, really the right thing to do. Have we overstayed our visit in Iraq? We went to Iraq with the idea that getting rid of their leader would improve their country and their people, now more than a year later, we are still in Iraq, only discovering that things are not improving at all, or at least not as we had planned. The Iraqi’s people are not at all excited to see American people with guns in their country, even if it is to protect them from their people who want to blow them up. The War in Iraq is only hurting our American economy as well. We spend numerous amounts of money towards, shelter, food, equipment, weapons for our troops in addition to the amounts of money that we spend on feeding the Iraqi people. We can’t even feed the people on our own streets or give them jobs, why are we helping another country live, if we can’t even help our own country live. We should be more worried about the people starving and living on our streets then the people in Iraq, who don’t want us in their country in the first place. The war in Iraq is only causing great controversy to the American people, allowing them to get angry at each other only because of their views of the war. When we first went into this war, I fully supported our country, believing that we needed to retaliate and help them get away from their terrorist leader. However, a year and more later, I no longer have that feeling; I believe we have overstayed our visit and need to bring our loved ones home. Everyday a man or woman is dying, withering away our population and causing our nation to become to a draft. A draft, where people no longer get to choose if they want to join the force, they will be forced to go to war. Nobody likes seeing their loved ones go to war and granted it is a choice, but is it a choice to really have this many American people dying in a war that can never be won. The war against Terrorism, the war in Iraq, they are the same war. Terrorism has been around for ages and it has not gone away and will never go away. Someone is always going to hate someone else and want to destroy them. Why should we try to win something that can’t be won, instead we should be trying to change or modify the causes and effects. Let’s bring home or loved ones and stop sending them to their ultimate doom. Now I can see the other side of the spectrum, don’t get me wrong. I can see what other people are saying, if we pull out then we are only showing weakness. But that is not true, we are showing that we have a heart not only for our own countries people but for other countries people as well. We will no longer be hurting our people or theirs. In addition the other side would believe that we can’t pull out or things will get worse. But tell me are things getting any better now? Would pulling out of the War in Iraq or the War on Terrorism really do any more damage that being in the war has already done. I don’t believe so, personally I believe we should Go.
should we STAY or should we GO!!!
