Today marks the 40th anniversary of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was honored in many different ways today. Hundreds gathered at the very hotel he was killed at, which is now a civil rights museum, and paid their respects and listened to speakers tell them how we are resposible for keeping his legacy going. Many news and radio stations also spoke of his great influence on the American people and how he NON-VIOLENTLY persuaded the government to end segregation.
I personally believe that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of great importance and we should never let his spirit go unforgotten. We should do all we can to keep his legacy going and not let his death be in vain. Many people take work that he has done for granted. It would be a shame if we let the works of such a great man be forgotten. He dedicated his life to make a change for the better and I believe that it's our responsibility to do all we can to keep the dream he had dreamed alive.
1. Do you believe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made a deep impact on the American people?
2. How do you feel he's changed America?
3. Do you believe that it's important to remember him?

He was a great man and that is important to honor so long as we also honor those who helped advance his cause such as the BPP and Malcolm X.
