I tried to have a love life once. It didn’t turn out too well. Actually, I regret every moment of it. Well, except for the times I didn’t think about it. I guess I am not one of those lucky or in ways not so lucky people who find romance and love it.
It seems I am too independent to be constantly harassed about where I am at and what I am doing. Maybe my personality just doesn’t want me to have a boyfriend. Maybe I don’t want my personality to want me to have a boyfriend.
It’s all too complex for me and not too complex in a good way but in the bad way. Calculus, philosophy, and religion are too complex, but that’s the reason I like them. Love is just too complex in the way that it drives me insane to the point where I would like to jump of the side of the Grand Canyon.
I guess I am bias to the subject, but love and romance is overrated. The whole idea of hearts, roses, diamonds, and chocolate are just scams created to make love more interesting. And then there’s Valentines Day, a stupid holiday created by card companies in alliance with Wal-Mart in order to make money during a boring month with not much sales. I mean who gets a card for Groundhog’s Day. It’s all a big conspiracy. Imagine how many relationships have been broken because somebody didn’t buy somebody a dozen roses, a box of chocolates, a cute little teddy bear, or a journey diamond necklace.
So maybe I am a little bitter towards the great ideology of love ever after, but it’s not because I can’t find love. I am just sick and tired of hearing it and seeing it. If you are so lucky as to find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with; well then kudos to you, but think about it, do you really want to spend the rest of your life enslaved to someone who couldn’t live with out you?

I don't think that love is something you should give up on. Sure, it may not seem like an attractive thing to be in at the moment, but that could all change one day. Just because someone's in love doesn't mean they have to celebrate Valentine's Day. I'm sure there are people just like you who feel the same way abou the holiday. Personally, I don't celebrate it. But don't feel like you are completely hopeless, because you never know who could come along.
Everything's too complex for us. We'll never truly figure it out. We love. We hurt. We complain. I don't think I'm going to figure it out either. I don't think anyone will.
