To learn Arabic

This essay represent my ideas, and beliefs for the present and future:

I believe that learning Arabic is important and I will definitely benefit from this experience. The world is shrinking as science, technology, and transportation undergo high-speed innovations, transforming the world every day. People are also being brought closer together as these aspects advances. Demographics do not matter as much and cultures are able to travel faster and easier by people and technology. People will not only be citizens of their own countries but global citizen, as well, because they already carry in their minds ideas drawn from different places as they travel across the world. An extended stay in a virtual Arabic village would expose me to a whole new set of ideas and give me a taste of culture that may change the course of mylife. Nothing is for sure, but I am determined to try everything out during my lifetime. This summer experience would contribute a great deal to my personal growth and development as I make my transition into adulthood. This is a significant point of my life: my parents finally believe that I am an independent person that cannot be tied down by any means to explore the world and ideas, and tha tI need the freedom to pursue my own ideas in becoming an adult. I believe the time will come during my lifetime that everyone will be a global citizen, no longer being bounded by one identity in the world. Most people will speak more than one language or two. At present, the situation that the United States faces in Iraq and Afghanistan gives us all the more reason to learn Arabic. If we were able to step outside of our own circle and try to communicate, then perhaps this war in Iraq could end sooner and on better terms for all parties involved. Beyond present diplomatic concerns, however, Arabic opens access to a rich cultural experience to all who presently stand outside the boundaries of the Islamic world.

And I went to the camp this past July of 2007.

Very nice essay. I agree with you completely on needed communication between English speaking countries and Arabic speaking countries. Revolutions are produced from the people who need them, not the leaders who endorse the current situations.
