Music Moves 1

So I'm gonna keep it on the music tip with this blog.

First thing, I ended up bein' sick over the weekend. I had been tryna finish up a "demo" for an artist by the name of Ayak. Her most recent accomplishment is being featured on Hi-Tek's new album- Hi-Teknology Vol. 2 - The Chip, with the song "Can We Go Back To That". She's got a very powerful and soulful voice. Her other songs are amazing. Feel free to check her out at www.myspace.com/ayaktracks She has a promo song titled "What It Do" and asked for a hot rapper, so I thought I'd give it a go. When I recorded it, I had a lil problem mixin' becuz the beat was drowning out my vocals. I turned them up as much as I could and even doubled them. It was a lil distorted, but a good distorted. I might get the spot, I might not. We'll see.

The next thing to come about music wise, was very unexpected. I'm in class and one of my friends tells me that their husband is burning me a cd of Haike D'Etat. I was like "What?" I didn't ask why, but I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was wondering if I heard of them before, and I probably did; I just didn't remember. So now I'm all amped up over something total new. I guess he did it becuz of our common taste in of music in Talib Kweli. So that was really cool of him.

When the cd didn't play in the car, I was like "whats up with that?". But I'm not one to get real worrisome. At least with that anyway. I went ahead and put it in my stereo upstairs. And it gladly played the cd. Turns out it was a data cd, but it still read it as mp3. Track name and all came out. The cd was "Coup De Theatre". It had a nice vibe the whole way thru. Very jazzy. I listened to it 2 times straight. 3 times total today. Definitely a nice hookup.

Once I was done playing the cd, I had read a blog by Kel Spencer (www.myspace.com/kelspencer) that there was a vid of 3rd Power on YouTube. More specifically, it was his brother Lance Bennett bein talked about via CSTV and how he mixes football with music. Go check out the video for real. Did you know the "L. Bennett"s wrote Will Smith's hit song "Switch"? How's that for creditibility? (www.youtube.com/watch?v=av8L0YK9aJw) And to add to 3rd Power, Gus Pain (another one of the L. Bennett brothers) has a myspace with some tracks. But I guess he's more on the producer side of things. (www.myspace.com/gpain)

I also got to talking to someone who is a fan of my music. He just wanted to see what was up and all that, and I sent him a freestyle I did. I definitely gotta get a movin' on the music side of things. It's a constant battle of why and how, so I need to figure something out. Thanks for reading.

Peace!
