Everyone is throwing a huge hissy fit about global warming and how bad we are hurting our planet. Gore comes out with a movie with a bunch of statistics and big words and stuff and then everyone is screaming about green house gases electric cars. And another thing is that it's a trend now to care about the earth. Give it a few months and Paris Hilton will start saying "that's hot... and it shouldn't be". People underestimate the earth. Tree huggers don't want to save the world they want to save the human race. The planet will fix itself, it's just going to have to get rid of humans to do it. We will experience unlivable conditions and we will die, but the earth will survive. The earth is one big cockroach. Live your life the way you want because you will die soon. Remember that saying don't live your life for someone, guess what? that includes the earth. Now i love the earth i do i really do, but the earth is like a teenager we have to let it go through it's changes or else it's going to rebel and believe me it won't be pretty. When the earth is done rebelling you will wish you were dead. Just let it be and it will work itself out.

I don't think many people's problems are with the small individuals. Yes, the planet will take care of itself, it is just sad when the powerful few get to destroy the human race without the consideration of anyone else. We could have utilized alternate fuel years ago. There have been answers for eons for many of the current global warming issues. The choices by the greedy few are what upset me about the destruction of the planet. You know what will die out long before the human race? The value of the money these people so quickly sold out to.
I do agree with your sentiment. Earth is a resilient planet. I wouldn't extend my agreement that this planet is a big cockroach, however. Who said we can't live well and contribute to a healthier planet at the same time?

Why shouldn't we try to make our own lives better while we're living here. Crazy as it may be, I have the desire for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be able to experience the same sorts of things I did, and I'd prefer not to think of not being able to have great- or great-great-grandchildren because the human race will be destroyed while the Earth cleans up after our boo-boos.
