Bush's Appointment Bad For Miners

It may be a couple of days old, but it is still news. Bush had made another bad decision by appointing a former mining executive to head of Mine Safety and Health. Richard E. Stickler was finally appointed even after the Senate rejected the appointment twice before.

Bush hasn't been my favorite person lately. Back in the day I was in favor of him, but I was only 15 and didn't do any research about any of the candidates. In the past months, my favor in him has dropped to about none. And just to clarify, the war has just about nothing to do with it. It is because of bad decisions, like the appointment of Stickler. Appointing a past coal executive to a position of power where he can help out his friends by not caring about miner safety doesn't make sense. I am not saying that he won't care at all, but think about it. There have been enough accidents in coal mines lately, and many of them have happened while Stickler help a leadership role in mining safety.

Maybe if we didn't rely on coal as our main energy source, we wouldn't have to worry about situations such as this so much.
