Even though abortion is killing a child, I feel that it should only be legal if there's is cause for one such as medical conditions or the baby or mother are at possible risk to losing life. Now days, people are able to get an abortion at up to 6 months and I think that is horrible. Because by then, the mother is able to tell the sex of the baby, feel movements, and the baby is more than half way developed. I do understand that both women and teens make mistakes in life, some can't be changed. But having a child is one of them. I don't think that there are many "legitimate" reasons as to why someone would get an abortion. For instance, though rape may emotionally and physically scar a female, I don't think it is cause to kill a child given to you beause having one is a blessing that not many are blessed with. The baby should not have to suffer for the mistakes of a man, he will soon suffer for his own mistakes. I also don't think that being too young to raise a child is a good excuse either unless the age of the girl actually puts her at risk because her body is not physically able. In my opinion, teen pregnancy is at an all time high. If a girl can be "adult" enough to have sex, then she should also take the responsibilities of the outcome.

Sure there are always circumstances for which abortion should be legal. I guess that';s why there is so much debate about it. I just think that the decisions should be up to whomever the mother is.

~I do not think a female should ever have to carry a child because she was rape or molested. Why should she suffer for 9 more months of being reminded that she was raped/molested. Not every female is strong emotionally and is able to do this. I know I am strong, but I would not want to be reminded every day of my life, every minute of my life for the next 9 months that their is a child growing inside of me because some guy thought he would take advantage of me!
I am only for abortion to a certain point in time and to a certain extent. For instance, Rape/molestation or if the mother is in danger.
However, I do not favor any female who decides to spread her legs knowing what her choices and her outcomes may come out to be. If you are old enough to spread your legs then you are old enough to handle the outcome.
Yea, I understand where you are coming from, but I just keep thinking of the fact that you're killing a child. But for some, you're right. They aren't strong enough and if they cant handle it then maybe they should. I was just reminded of a book that I read where a mother wouldn't take care of her oldest daughter simply because she was conceived from her being a rape victim. And that kind of thing is sad. Because the child still needs a mother, but then again their is always adoption. And I fully support you on the last part

So an 11-year-old is old enough to handle being pregnant? Having her family and community ortracise her? Losing her friends? Carry a baby to term and then keeping it or giving it up for adoption?
First of all an 11 year old should not be having sex. If an eleven year old is having sex then I would like to ask where are her parents? and the excuse well sally did and he said he loved me is not an excuse to have sex either. If she is 11 and decides to have sex then she should know her outcomes and know what could happen. If you do not want to accept the fact that you might get pregnant or your might come in contact with an STD, then you should not be having sex!!!
...should, perhaps, but does she? Do you really think CHILDREN understand the outcome of sex?

I don't think abortion "kills a child," and I feel it should be available for any reason.
Now days, people are able to get an abortion at up to 6 months and I think that is horrible.
Please, have some perspective. Fewer than 1% of abortions are performed beyond 20 weeks, and many of those are for serious medical reasons. 90% of abortions are done in the first trimester.
I do understand that both women and teens make mistakes in life, some can't be changed. But having a child is one of them.
I must disagree. Having a child should NEVER be a mistake!

Becoming pregnant after a rape is NOT my idea of a "blessing." If that happened to me, I would absolutely have an abortion, whether it was legal or not, because I don't want to have a child with a rapist.
The baby should not have to suffer for the mistakes of a man, he will soon suffer for his own mistakes.
Abortion after rape does not make anyone suffer! A mindless embryo has no capacity for suffering whatsoever! Allowing a rape victim to have an abortion is about alleviating her suffering.
I also don't think that being too young to raise a child is a good excuse either unless the age of the girl actually puts her at risk because her body is not physically able.
Pregnancy always puts a woman at risk, but it puts teenagers at even greater risk.
In my opinion, teen pregnancy is at an all time high.
This is not an opinion, and it is wrong. Teen pregnancy is actually at an all-time low in the United States.
If a girl can be "adult" enough to have sex, then she should also take the responsibilities of the outcome.
If a girl is adult enough to get pregnant, she should also be adult enough to choose abortion if that's what she wants. Adults get to make their own medical decisions.
Teen pregnancy was at an all time high in the early 90's. It declined up until 2006, when it started to rise again. Please do research before stating such facts.

first of all, if the purpose of you replying is to insult, please refrain from doing so. And secondly, where I live, teen pregnancy is at an all time high.
No, if I wanted to insult, I would have been a lot more vicious. I just wanted to raise your awareness.
And if that's what you meant, you need to state that, because it is not your opinion, and the fact for the US as a whole is incorrect.

You made a very good point on the issue of rape.
Although there are many troubles with pregnancy by rape, I completely agree with you. Just because there was a crime committed upon a woman, there should be no reason for an innocent child to suffer. There is always adoption. And if anyone says that that woman should not have to endure the pregnancy, they say it only out of utter laziness. If killing a child is their solution to not dealing with the consequences that life throws at you, then they should reconsider their moral values.
However, i do not agree with you on the subject of the woman's health. First of all, if the baby's health is a risk, there should be NO reason to abort that baby, Killing a baby will definetly not increase his/her chances of survival. And even if a mother is at risk of losing her life, due to pregnancy complications, It would be unfair for that woman to have to live with the guilt of knowing that she used her child as a human sacrifice to save herself.

What if it will definitely die shortly after birth? What if it will definitely suffer horribly before it dies?
And even if a mother is at risk of losing her life, due to pregnancy complications, It would be unfair for that woman to have to live with the guilt of knowing that she used her child as a human sacrifice to save herself.
It's UNFAIR to her? That's for HER to decide. Not you.

From this comment, I'm assuming that you're a vegan who has never used or worn leather or used pesticide.
Most of your argument is religion and emotion based. Try to support your thoughts with logic that everyone can understand, not by referring to pregnancy as a "blessing".
