The Mind of Children

Tagged:

The day my FIRST Robotics Team and I went to practice at McKinley Technology High School here in DC before going to the FIRST UVC/NASA Regional Competition, I took my two little siblings so that they could see us play. A few days after, I saw them making drawings of robots. Seeing that they were making many different drawings, I got curious and asked, "What do your robots do?" My little six years old brother answered, "My robot picks up chairs and stacks them up." My little five years old sister answered, "My robot has eyes that can see through people's body and tell why they are sick."

The robot that my little brother was thinking about seems like a very feasible robot to do. In fact, the robot we made this year can pick up inner tubes. So to make a robot that can pick up chairs and stack them up should be similar to do. While their ideas and thoughts are big, they are still not old enough to make them a reality. Further more, while the idea of my little sister to make a robot with eyes that can see through people's body and tell why they are sick seems like a crazy idea, it is still a great idea.

I have to say that their answers amazed me and made me see that even children could be great inventors.
