So it's official (almost). Mike Huckabee has conceded the election (gracefully, so it seems) to John McCain, who now has the necessary 1,191 delegates to capture the Republican nomination for President.
Although a little late, Huckabee finally bowed out, and has pledged his full support to the party. John McCain now will have the responsibility of looking for VP candidates, and looking towards the General Election.
However, on the Dem side, it's still muffled. Here in Ohio, with 6% of the precincts in, Hillary was up with 60% of the vote against Obama's 38%, but nothing is final here, with Obama suing to keep certain precincts open longer, mainly in Cuyahoga county, a Democratic stronghold, because of weather and a shortage on paper ballots, with hundreds being turned away.
In Texas, the final results may not be known until tomorrow or late tonight. I don't think I could quite explain their process...2/3 of delegates are allotted to primary, and 1/3 of delegates for the caucus following. (With certain precincts getting more delegates?)
Now that the Democrats will be fighting it out for Pennsylvania 7 weeks from now, John McCain will have the time to set-up an effective nationwide campaign for the general, and (hopefully) a win in November.
...on a side note, Go Hillary!

I must admit that although I'm a staunch democrat, I'm a little disappointed that Huckabee dropped out, or didn't sooner. I think this is good. Now the democrats will be getting even more media attention.
And go Hillary on what? Rhode Island isn't that much of an accomplishment. In fact I can't say I've seen many accomplishments attached to her name in this campaign season.
What I meant by "Go Hillary" was that, even as a Republican, I like her a lot. Personally, I would be fine with McCain, or Hillary as president.
...and RI had more delegates than Vermont, which was Obama's only win last night. Ohio and Texas are pretty big accomplishments, in my opinion.
Sigh.
Well, McCain is much less frightening that Huckabee.
As for the Dems, it's been so nasty and will probably continue to be so. That's not going to be good for them.
As for me, I feel between a rock and two hard places. I hate 'em all. (Obama over the rest. His health crap isn't mandatory and he's willing to talk to our enemies and he's anti war.)

I would love to see a further and actually supported argument against obama...if he's helping our country I don't see how it's so bad...and talking to our enemies isn't always bad we've done it in the past and somewhat recently with North Korea.
Those are aspects about Obama that I like.
Why don't I like him? I am (for the moment, I tend to swing) a libertarian. That's why I don't really like him.

hmm you change sides? that's interesting. how's the whole libertarian thing panning out for you during this race?
"hmm you change sides?"
I am merely undecided upon a political philosophy.
lol. Not great, not great.

The good: Huckabee is finally gone
The bad: McCain won the GOP nomination
The ugly: either a socialist or a communist is going to be the next president
lol...
I'd say either a Socialist or a worse Socialist will be President. Neither of the Dems are quite at the Communist level...
