Want to get high with me?
Smoke a joint? blow the herb?
WOW.
So its legal to get high if your in bad enough condition. BUT heres the catch. Its legal by the STATE government... but not by FEDERAL government. Yeah Legal? What? The state of good old California passed a law that its legal to have prescribed "mary jane." If you have cancer, have bad bipolarism or such you get to sit around and be "high as a kite" all day. Isnt that crazy? But hey guess what, the Federal government went to Cali and shut down 6 different hospitals for prescribing the marijuana. Have you guys heard about the lady that is dieng and the government wants to send her to prison. Yeah, because of a hospital that gave her prescribed marijuana. They dont want to sue the hospital or anything, they are going after the lady! isnt that insane? i just want to know what all of you think. I want to know if you think the United States of America should legalize weed for health issues alone, or personal enjoyment AND health issues? I personally think that it should be legalized for health issues.

I find the fact that weed is illegal somewhat confusing. I have never smoked and have no desire too. And on top of that I hate being around people who are smoking. But I do believe in rights.. and this I have just never been able to understand.
Cigarettes are bad for. They cause lung cancer and a billion other health problems.
Alcohol is seriously addictive and causes an overwhelming number of automobile accidents and other accidents every year. It has ripped apart lives, caused people to become violent, caused injuries, even deaths.
But our government allows us to smoke and drink as much as we want.
Marijuana, however, is another story. Why?
It has many of the same side effects as smoking and alcohol do.. the only difference is that it has positive aspects too.
I dont get it.
I know waaaay too many potheads who would have me think that pot is this "miracle medicine," but I'm not convinced. There's a reason why it's illegal, and yes the punishment for drug possession is a little extreme, but I don't think that it should be legalized, even for health reasons. Besides, I'm pretty sure they don't prescribe you marijuana to smoke it, but even if they do, there are alternate forms of medicine that work just the same and are legal.

Honestly drugs are bought and sold in this country every day. They are smuggled in regardless of the governments efforts, so why not legalize them? Legalizing drugs like marijuana would allow the government to tax them and we can benefit from that. Also if they want to ween people off drugs they can just increase taxes like in cigarettes.
I dont think this will increase the amount of drug users because most everyday people dont use drugs because you can't get a job or really function at all.
Also, if we legalize drugs we can have more control on what people are consuming. People will die less from consuming drugs that have been laced with other substances that often are life threatening.
