The Ultimate Healthy Lifestyle

Weight has become a big issue with young males and females.  More people are starting to diet than ever before.  When will they ever learn just to eat right and exercise?  Sure, it's easier said than done, but once one starts it becomes more of an addiction.  When I started running, I got hooked and eventually became and avid distance runner.

Obviously, depriving the body of its needed nutrients is very unhealthy.  Sure, the weight will come off, but only temporarily.  More often than not, methods that involve losing weight quickly are foolproof.  Fad diets such as Atkins have been proven unsuccessful simply for that reason.  Also, diet pills do not work.  How lazy does someone have to be that he or she resorts to a pill for weight loss?

More people have started unhealthy dieting at a younger age.  Girls as young as 10 have tried to cut out carbohydrates or try other means of dieting.  Some people even sacrifice their health by developing eating disorders, such as anorexia or bulimia, just to become skinny!  The main question is why?

People who eat right both feel and appear to be happier and healthier.  Not all healthy food is "gross".  Whether it's dried mangos or broccoli, there's something for everyone.  When one decides to put down the ice cream cone and replace it with a piece of watermelon, then he or she will begin to notice a difference in both lifestyle and attitude.  I'm not saying that junk food should be cut out completely, everyone's human.

Exercising is also a great way to lose weight, but it's even better for feeling better about yourself.  Personally, I think that it's fun.  Joining a sport is great for making new friends and getting on track to a better lifestly.  Yoga and pilates are great for toning muscles and relieving stress.

With so many positive ways to look better, why do some resort to the negatives?  There's a great alternative healthy diet and exercise program for everyone, depending on interests.  Do the skinny stars make it seem like eating disorders are healthy?  Some of the are extremely unhealthy looking, and who wants that?

We all know this but restating this nicely was pleasant to my eyes! I too have become a runner even though I hate it! :)

It's sad how many young girls are going on "diets" these days.

Healthy habits start from childhood, and in todays overprocessed overmarketed world, it's hard to find the "light".
