This past summer I took a group of young girls ages 9-12 to a summer camp. I spent the week in a sleeping bag listening to five girls giggle, laugh, and share secrets. By the end of the week I had realized two things; First, I am only having two children when I'm older, hopefully both boys, and secondly young girls are obsessed with boys!
I'm not against guys, believe me I love them, boy do I love them, but I'm almost 18! I'm shocked whenever I meet a girl who is only ten and she has had more sexual encounters with guys then I have. That is outrageous.
I mean, eventually girls have desires for intamacy but it used to be we started dating at fourteen, when did the first date land on their ninth birthday?
I'm starting to think 'puppy-love' is dangerous, or leads to danger for many younger girls. Do you think the boy-craze is getting out of hand?

The national age for when first sexual encounters occurs has lowered for both males and females. You can attribute this to anything you wish. Morality, the fact that girls see more sex on TV, that they might feel obligated...or that the males are able to con them perhaps?
But I don't feel that puppy love is dangerous. If these girls are having sexual encounters, it's moved past the point of puppy love. Puppy love is a right of passage (passing notes, whispering, giggling, and then oggling another boy the next week).

Ive noticed that too... I help out at a local elementary school and the girls are nuts!! Girls seriously fight over guys in the 4th grade! Theres a few girls that have more experience than I do. Thats scary for a 4th grader!
I completely agree. I'm 17 and I've met 10 year olds who have even had abortions. It's outrageous. Where are these kids' parents?!?!?

I don't know, but they need to get back in the scene. Ten year olds having abortions is ludicrous. I mean, I didn't even have my menstrual cycle when I was ten, let alone the desire to have sex....

Seriously though, where are these kids parents?! Don't they care if their kids is out? How are these CHILDREN getting around their parents supervision and having sex?! I don't get it!

In my opinion, girls and boys should either stick to the idea that the other has cooties, or treat it as a joke. "So-and-sos getting married" and that kind of thing. I had never heard of sex until I was 10 or 11 and even then I really didn't understand it. That should come with maturity.
