Congress effective as a baseball fan?

We all know the three branches of Government. We are aware of Checks and Balances. But where are the checks and balances on stupidity? I'm going to highlight a few things about what we know as Congress, and how unfortunately-it isn't very effective. Congress has some check and balance power...but not as much as it used to be. only Congress can declare war, thanks to the War Powers Act, but that can be easily overridden once the country is excited,upset etc. The public sways the opinion of their congressmen. Thankfully besides expenditures and power of the purse, apparently all congress can control is steroids in baseball. Why would congress regulate something such as this, when it has so much more it can do? Check out Iraq congress. Forget about the fact that every sports team has steroids issues and you need a power trip. The level of the playing field needs to be changed. Effective government relies on using the power that has been bestowed upon you, wisely. The money used for your salary should not go to waste! Even more tragic is the fact that congress has the power to raise their wages. Now they have not done it in a while, but it is possible it can occur. So lets take a look at possible congressional issues, war, money, and BASEBALL. And this is what is known as an effective government, this is the government of the students of America.
