BYE BYE BIRDIES

How many times has your car been victim to the unexpected and unwanted pigeon dropping. How many times have you been a victim to pigeon droppings. Well no more! Pigeons are overpopulated in New York City and City Councilman Simcha Felder has declared war on the “rats with wings”. He plans on introducing a ban by initiating a $1,000 fine on the pigeon feeders.
New York City Mayor Bloomberg does not endorse the feeding ban but at a news conference said he thought the pigeons were a problem. Pigeon droppings contain ammonia and uric acid which can rust steel and corrode an infrastructure. City Councilman Felder says that one pigeon excretes about 25 pounds of droppings a year. "We hope people who are spending their time collecting old bread from bakeries to feed pigeons to poop on your head will stop," said Councilman Simcha Felder.
New City is not the first city that has made efforts to get rid of pigeons. London banned feeding pigeons in Trafalgar Square and closed down official feed vendors. They also brought in hawks to scare away the pigeons that remained. Venice, Italy, is stopping the sale of bird seed in St. Mark's Square. Los Angeles has been using pigeon birth control called OvoControl P. Switzerland has been stealing the birds’ eggs and replacing them with fake eggs.
Felder has suggested hawk-breeding and forced contraception as ways to thin the population. Felder's plan didn't immediately take flight. In a previous attempt to shoo the pigeons out of Bryant Park in 2003, hawks were brought to scare off the pigeons. The hawks were taken away after a pet Chihuahua was snatched away. A spokesman for Council, Speaker Christine Quinn said, "We will review it.”
Should there be a $1,000 fine for feeding pigeons? ”If people like pigeons... feed [them] in your house and let them crap all over the place in your living room," he said. Fowler called pigeons the foulest of fowl and said they are public health hazards that have long outlived their use for delivering messages. "People have been disgusted and annoyed and are sick and tired of this," said Felder.
Animal lovers are enraged to see the government limiting their right to feed animals. Al Streit, director of The Pigeon People, an organization that rescues injured birds, said "Cities are lifeless places. People don't appreciate the fact that we have some wildlife." Protesters believe that city council should not be making bans on pigeon feeding but harsher punishments for people who litter.
These feeding fines may seem unbelievable but we did vote for these people who set up these laws. So next time we should be more careful so we don’t pick merciless City Councilmen and horny governors that enjoy spending $4,000 of government money on a prostitute.

Idea! Obviously, people should not be standing, parking, or erecting buildings and statues underneath pigeons. What did they expect? If you ask me they should be blaming gravity too!
