I am what they call “A Rush Baby”. For my entire life my parents have tuned their radios to Rush Limbaugh’s talk show. As far back as I can remember the radio has always projected his voice. Rush’s voice is as familiar to me as my own internal monologue. Going to school I mostly hear his show during the summer time. That is why I read “The Limbaugh Letter”, a newsletter that compacts the month’s happenings into one neat organized format.
As I have gotten older I have learned to appreciate what he has to offer. A conservative logic that “makes the complicated understandable”, a message of less government and more freedom. On a daily basis Rush and his staff sort through the ocean that is the media in search of the valuable information that the American people need to know. Listening to his show is getting the inside scoop. It is learning the truth. He will often predict political decisions weeks before they are made. Many people have never listened to Rush, but automatically think he is a right-wing fanatic. He is not. He is one of the smartest people alive and one of the most charitable. His support of the troops, military families, and every American who is working hard is extraordinary. To make my point clearer; he cares about people as much as liberals say the federal government should.
I can remember one caller comparing him to George Washington. Rush took the compliment in stride and said “Yeah, they wanted to make George Washington king, but he said no to set a good example. If they wanted to make me king, I’d take the job” And you know what? That would be perfectly fine with me.

I completely agree. Rush is an excellent voice for America's unrepresented right. He is one of the few consistent outlets where the news is interpreted through a conservative voice. Long live king Limbaugh.
I Have nothing against limbaugh, but may i suggest you present why other people thjink he is so bad? I mean there are reasons, (even if you believe them to be exaggeratted) that people fiorm negative opinions towards limbaugh. And some of them if you look with an open mind even if you like limbaugh you might understand why they might think limbaugh is what he is.
Glutenously yours,
Pasta Rasta
Why not let the Rush haters make their own case?
Someone that likes him can only theorize the reasons for others hating him, but if those who actually feel he is a threat or problem speak up their reasoning could get a fair representation. I'm suprised none have apeared here. The humor on his show is mostly at the expence of liberal ideas that are popular here.
A Fact is Always Better Than an Ideal.
My step-father was a huge fan of Rush Limbaugh, and I have heard his radio show many times. I was entirely unable to come to any of the same conclusions that you have. Limbaugh manages to "simplify" issues by dumbing them and people down into neat little stereotypes and generalizations. If you don't know or understand the many complexities of an issue, then you don't understand the issue at all and you really can't form an intelligent opinion on it. Limbaugh provides a disservice to the American people by further spreading disinformation. He thinks that global warming/climate change is ridiculous and nonexistant. Most importantly, he has said some of the most hateful and ignorant things I have ever encountered, especially against women and minorities. For example:
--"Why should Blacks be heard? They're 12% of the population.
Who the hell cares." mrc.org
--"Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive
women easier access to the mainstream of society." mediamatters.org
--"One of the things I want to do before I die is conduct the Homeless Olympics... [Events would include] the 10-meter Shopping Cart Relay, the Dumpster Dig, and the Hop, Skip and Trip." (L.A. Times, 1/20/91)

There is no evidence that the earth is warming. The warm decade of the 1990's was not quite as warm as the warm decade of the 1930s (before large scale emmissions of CO2). The global warming models are badly flawed. They predicted consistent warming through the last decade and in fact we only got one warm year (2001) and 2007 was a record cold year across most of the globe and 2008 is shaping up to be another cold year too. The arctic ice melting last summer which has been widely touted as evidence of global warming has happened worse three times in the last century (prior to large scale emmissions of CO2. Ships actually were able to sail the Northern passage in 1904, 1940 and 1942 so last summer's melt which was not quite enough to open the passage was nothing particularly extraordinary. And now NASA has just discovered a shift in the ocean currents that apparently was not taken into account in the global warming models (what good are they if they don't include key determinates of climate like ocean currents?) that is going to give us 10 to 30 years of cooler weather. Rush is actually a voice of sanity on the global warming issue when the vast majority of the main stream media has bought into and actively participating in this scam and is refusing to report facts in historical context.
The problem with most liberals is that they lack a sense of humor that allows them to laugh at themselves. It is easy enough for them to see the humor when John Stewart is roasting George Bush but they can't see the humor in Rush roasting feminists.
My favorite part of Rush's show are Paul Shanklin's (sp?) parody songs. "Burning Ball of Fire" and "Puff the Magic Negro" were hysterical.
