Mcdonalds or MCDICTED!

Mcdonald's another fast food food chain or is it an addicted fast food company that has many "members". The Super Size Me movie is a great example. This man had to eat Mcdonald'f for a month. . .3 times a day. After the documentary ended he struggled with weeks of major depression because he couldn't eat Mcdonald's. In addition it took him 8 months to get his blood pressure and other vital pulses almost normal. Not only is there a Mcdonalds on every street corner there are commercials. Heck there were 15,800,000 results on Google for Mcdonalds. The fast is we are bombarded with Mcdonald's and other food joints but if we don't have enough will power falling to temptation will be a recurrent theme. During the movie a family was interviewed and they couldn't remember the Pledge of Alliegence but could recite the Big Mac slingo with the snap of a finger. . .How do you justify this?

So you maybe saying well what about all these new salads and premium chicken they sale. . .Well their nutritional facts along with many, many articles show these aren't much more healthy mainly due to the condiments and things on the salad. The classic iceberg lettuce they use is known as dead weight in the medical feel becuase it has no nutritional value. Let's take a look at a typical salad. The lettuce contains about 25 calories of just stuff. Their dressing contains alot of fat; the Newman's Creamy Ceasar dressing has 18 grams of fat and 190 calories. The salads calorie average is about 300 (most popular are more). Now add other condiments and you are looking at a BIG MAC. By the way a BIG MAC has about 540 calories. So what is so healthy about a Mcdonald's salad? Well the you are eating healthier fats! Sounds great huh?

. . .And you are prolly saying I know this but yet we still go back for more. Are the chemicals they use contain addicting ingredients? Is this becoming a nation-wide epidemic? I continually see severly obese teenagers and adults eating a Big Mac with a Super large fry and a 510 ounce drink all the time. With the movies and articles the fast food industry is still growing. Are we just to busy as humans? Are we becoming more lazy as a nation as technology increases and eliminates simple task? If we just slow down you know sit down and eat a healthy dinner eating fast food you know once a week wouldn't be so bad. Are their any soutions?

Yup, you're right on. It's like we think the Golden Arches are the eigth wonder of the world or something.
But there ARE solutions. I think that when McD's first came out, it was a new and popular convenience. People loved it,tasting good, fast, cheap. But now I think that the glam of McD's is wearing off. People still go there, but they KNOW it's bad for them. I think the mindset will slowly change.
It certainly changed me--I read the Fast Food Nation book that Jenee was talking about and became a vegetarian. 10 years meat free.

I only got 1,340,000 results on Google for "Mcdonalds". What word did you search?

That's why you shouldn't get addicted to McDonalds- so, you don't get depressed over it. Also, I didn't know that a McDonalds salad is that much fattening as a Big Mac.

You've certainly done your research, and you make a good point. Please though, for the sake of my grammar and spelling OCD, use the spell check.

i think that if we made the effort to boycott mcdonald's until they decided to offer healthier meals, they would change their ways. they have in the past, and they will in the future. they tried to fake us out with options like the paarfait and premium select chicken, but if we really mean business, they will too.
the chances of americans actually boycotting fastfood? very slim. very, very slim. there would have to be a health food scare, like rotten meat or something.
