Quicker then Death

I am torn on whether or not I think Euthanasia should be legal at all. I think it to be acceptable that if a person lays dying and suffering Euthanasia should be allowed of course with the consent of the person in question. If there is no chance of beating a sickness or disease and a person remains in pain they should have the right to decide whether they want to suffer some more or rest in peace. It is a sin to commit suicide but the real question is, is it suicide if you’re going to die anyway? This is where I think it is acceptable to use Euthanasia. If there is nothing but death on the horizon, a person should have the choice to move on. The major problem is separating those who are in serious pain and have no chance of surviving and those who have a slim chance of surviving. Another thought that comes to mind is the pulling of life support. If someone is alive on life support isn’t pulling the plug Euthanasia, yet people do this all the time. It is very hard to figure out when it is the write time to employ this form of suicide because there are always loop holes or there are always other factors that we miss.

yeah, it is so what-if. I think it should be legal personally if the right circumstances are their, like you said, pain. Otherwise, I don't because that is alot for the person to give you the shot needs to deal with. I think it is too bad that this isn't a part of the current election, because it really is relavent, especially with the rise of senior citizens

ummm...yes it is a sin to commit suicide...moreover, it's a crime...if you don't succeed you can be convicted from it and serve time in the mental hospital/prison...I think euthanasia is wrong b/c we have drugs that can get rid of the pain, make you comatose, etc...and if they're going to die anyways well then it's just a matter of time...as heartless as that sounds

Because putting someone into a coma for the rest of their lives is so much better than allowing them to die in the first place....

no it's not...but putting someone into a coma that is just going to die anyways to get rid of the pain would be an option that's not killing them...you're still letting them die by themselves
