On Thursday October 20th, 2005. Tori and I went to the Pittsburgh Mill Mall. We tested our experiment on 30 people. We tested 15 men, and 15 women. At the mall we took turns on crutches at the entrance/exit doors and tried to see whether or not people would open the door for us. While performing the experiment, we took pictures as evidence. We discovered that more men would open the doors for us than the women. Women with children were also more likely to open the door for us than other women. We also observed that teen boys were more likely to open the door for a person on crutches. After found our hypothesis to be incorrect, we hypothesized that 75% of the people would hold the door open for us, but actually 76% of the people held the door open for us. I am not surprised with our findings, as they were close to what we hypothesized. If we were to do this over, we could test our experiment on more people, and go somewhere where they did not have automatic doors anywhere. I think that over all we lead a successful experiment.
