Disney Messages

I was recently talking to some of my friends about the little snipets of adult humor in movies such as Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, etc., and I don't see what the big deal is? Animators get bored when they're making these movies, so they decide to add a little adult humor to it. The adults have to take their kids to go watch the movie, so why can't they have fun while they watch it too?
When I went to go see Shrek in theaters, the parents were laughing as much as the kids were. There's nothing wrong with keeping both audiences entertained. Nothing at all. As long as the message is an overall one of good character and morals that the child can learn from, and the adult humor present in the movie isn't blatant, there is no problem.
My friend was going on and on how it's morally wrong for Disney and other production companies to allow these things to make it to the screen, but honestly, how much fun woud you have if you went to go take your son/daughter/sibling if there wasn't some sexual connotation or other form of "adult humor"?

It does add something extra for the parents. Most of the time those little tidbits are rather insignificant that they would go over a young child's head.

Some things could be tolerated, but other things shouldn't be in Disney movies. Have you heard about the naked woman in The Rescuers? Look it up on YouTube. Pretty freaky. It's too fast for most people to notice, so I wouldn't call it casual adult humor.

I actually find that to be more funny than bad. I mean, it's like a treasure hunt in your movie...only instead of treasure you just get a half a second glance at an animation of a naked woman...but still. It's like when Bruce Willis' shirt changes color in Die Hard for no reason. Fun stuff.

I don't blame Disney for putting in pieces of adult humor, as long as they aren't obvious to the children. Disney has two audiences to please--the adults and the kids. If the adults don't enjoy themselves too, they won't take their kids to as many Disney movies. Besides, it's healthy for people to laugh, Disney is just helping adults find something to laugh AT.

I think that the whole thing is pretty cool. If you knew about all of the different things the director added in, it would almost be like a scavenger hunt with disney movies. It's pretty stupid for any parent to get mad about those things being added in because everyones kids can see worse things looking at billboards out of the car window.

i always knew they weren't rumors!

its kinda strange to add these messages in disney movies. they are suppose to be for innocent children.

People went to see finding Nemo several times when it was in theatres in an attempt to find all the props from other Pixar movies. This isn't exactly the same thing, but it was pretty interesting to look for them, and it got people's attention. For example, there is a Buzz Lightyear doll in the Dentist's waiting room.

Disney does not have to be just a kids company. Sometimes Disney movies bring out the childlike side of even the most mature adults. We all need a little laughter in our lives. It is like a dose of medicine.
