Has anyone read Snow Falling on Cedars? I am only like 80 pages into it, but I am in love with this book! I am from the Seattle area, and was thinking about San Piedro Island. The map in the front of the book shows it just south of Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands. I have spent a couple summers up on Lopez, and there is no island south of it. Lopez is the southern most island in the San Juans. I found it pretty hilarious that the author just plopped an island in the middle of the Straits and set his story there... No offense, but I bet those of you who arent from the northwest had no idea that the book was set on a fictitious island... Good times. Although, if you arent from the area, you have absolutely no reason to know that the island does or doesnt exist... I just thought it was funny, and want to know if anyone else knew it was a fake island... Besides it being a fake island, the book is great. I highly recommend it to everyone!
