About 3 years ago a registered sex offender moved into my neighborhood. Children who didn't go inside their house were now locked up in their house. The parole officer told my mother that he would try to get another child, and was very capable of it. The sex offeneder was 6'9 and 300 pounds! You did not want him to knock on your door. I just didn't understand how someone like that, who had hurt at least 2 children, was allowed to be in society and roam around our neighboorhood like a free man, while everyone else there had to stay indoors.
That whole summer was ruined. The man and his "legally blind" dad finally left because they were offered a substantial amount of money to leave. But not too long after, the offender was in a federal prison for another crime. I was furious!! How many children do people like that have to hurt before someone stands up and says. " WHY?" .
Why do they get the freedom to go stalk children, have disgusting thoughts about them, and commit crime after crime?
Then you hear about how they have rights also. WHAT? Our forefathers would have lynched people like that long before they could commit another crime. Their rights went out the window the moment they set eyes on that child!! They do NOT deserve to go to jail, get back out, and hurt another child. Ask any officer or psychologist and they will tell you that those people do not change.
I HATED being a prisoner in my own house for just a few months. But I HATED even more that some little child had to get hurt before he got what he deserved. So why do they get rights? WHY?
Rights to Criminals?

We seem to have a backwards legal system and at least you were lucky and he was paid off to leave ;but aournd the world things like this happen to children constantly an jail is not even thought of for crimes like that. If anything become a lawyer and help solve this problem . I am sorry to hear you where a prisioner in your own house nobody should feel like that.

I myself am torn on where I stand regarding this issue. One part of me believes that people can change, reform, and deserve love and forgiveness. The other part of me wants to keep them locked up for all time or worse. Even after reading this I am still torn and I don't know what it will take for me to make up my mind.
