The Murder of a Neighbor Girl

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

I recently heard that a girl I knew has been murdered. I didn’t know her well, but she lived just down the street from me. She seemed very sweet, and she was a beautiful girl; just 21 years old. She had moved out to Los Angeles to try and pursue a modeling and acting career, and it seemed as though she had a bright future ahead of her, as she had gotten work as the central girl in a major music video.

Like I said, I didn’t know her well, but our dads are very good friends. My dad told me last night that he had gotten a call from her dad, saying that they had flown out to LA because they just got the news. She was murdered in her own apartment. Police are currently investigating.

The news really struck me, because this wasn’t some random girl; it was someone I knew. I’ve had people I know die before, but that was always either an accident or natural. This was a murder. I was so sad that this girl with a bright future had her life stolen from her. I really couldn’t imagine who would or could do something like this. Just like with every other death I have faced, this incident has put a lot into perspective for me. I felt as though my own mortality was much more real, and that’s a scary thought. I, personally, felt invaded—someone can be murdered, so young, in their own home.

wow! that's really ummm I don't know...I haven't been through someone I know actually getting murdered...so I don't know how I'd react...it's terrible that people would do something like this especially to a girl that sounds like she had so much potential...it's never fair when an innocent life gets ripped away...that really sucks...hopefully the perp gets what's coming

And yet, no matter how many times such random acts of violence occur, we are always surprised. Still, the realization that something like this could, and might, happen to someone near to you is pretty shocking.

My mind just went off on a tangent and I was wondering what your username meant. Random numbers, or does it correspond to something?

It's the username that I use for everything. It's just a palendrome, so it's easy to remember, and no one else ever has it. That way, I know my username for every site I use, and it's one that is exclusively mine (don't steal it, just kidding).

I know how you feel. I was good friends with this girl who was murdered by a family member. She was such a friendly girl and had been friends with everyone. She had such a bright future ahead of her- she was only 14 when she died. It was hard to believe that someone I knew, someone I was friends with, could be murdered.

I have never known someone who was murderer before, I can only imagine the pain and heart ache you must be going through right now. We just have to realize that we can go at anytime at any age. Tomorrow is not promised to no man.

make thinsg seem differnetly. My best friends mother was murdered 2 days after I had slept over her house. This woman was one of the sweetest people I will ever meet in my life. Its like its so real its unbelievable.

    I'm sorry.
I hope that from this and other incidents like it, that people learn how to protect themselves and learn self-defense. It can save your life!
Unfortunately it takes an incident like this where someone is killed to really get people to understand about how they can protect themselves and their loved ones from a despicable crime like this. I hope whoever did it get caught and convicted and sentenced for life in prison, in solitary confinement.
