Life on the Other Side

Today, marked the 5 year anniversary of America's War in Iraq. I ask you to consider where it has gotten us? 5 years ago we heard a speech on the weapons of mass destruction that we must protect ourselves from. Today President Bush definatly defended the war in Iraq. Despite the fact that 29,000 military members have been wounded and 4,000 have died, Bush states that ""those costs are necessary when we consider the cost of a strategic victory for our enemies in Iraq." I simply ask you to consider if you truly believe he is correct?
Speaking of cost the war has cost the US over 500 billion dollars and is certain to continue to rise. Considering that our nation is currently functioning under a 9.1 trillion dollar debt, I am of the oppinion that this war hasn't been the propper way to spend our limited budget.
Finally i want to look at the original causes of this war. Weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist, and Osama Bin Laden. So, all I ask is Where are these wmd? and Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden. 5 years from the other side of Iraq has failed to show us what Vietnam could never show us.. we have no buisness there. Thats just my oppinion.. but I would love to hear yours!

I agree we really haven't gotten anywhere in Iraq besides our people being killed. I believe Osama is dead. If you look at the video on 9/11 he looked so sickly because he was having kidney failure. He was very sick. I bet he has been dead for awhile now. There was supposed to be a new video come out on the anniversary this year and I saw it on the news. He look 10 years younger and far from sick when I watched it. His beard was not grey or anything. He honestly is dead. I can't prove this 100% but I believe this 100%. What better to force us to stay over in Iraq than searching for someone who never will be found, because he is dead! This war to Bush is personal not for 9/11. Look at it this way his father drug our asses to Iraq when he was president. Bush is doing the same thing. Bush is the biggest idiot ever and he is the reason our economy is suffering. If you get time watch my video in my blog. The blog is called "A great message from an unlikely source." It is about Bush and Iraq but takes a humorous approach.

I have been against the war in Iraq for some time. I admit, i was part of the masses who were caught up in the hype of the WOMD, but i realized pretty quickly. Yeah this war is pretty bogus. Of course Saddam was a good regime to end, because he did some pretty bad stuff (though I'm sure he did some good there, like Hitler in a way but not as bad) However, justifying a war with lies is outrageous. He can't just spend human lives, both American and Iraqi, to accomplish some political agenda. Honestly, i believe in the whole Oil company conspiracy, but even if its not true, isn't it scary there is actually a fairly widely believed, yet unproven word that Bush is putting America (A freakin' country for gods sake) in debt, and spending Iraqi and American lives so he can get oil to make the oil business more rich.

I mean, war, as proven in the past, can be economically good for a country. Look at WW2, it got American and Germany out of the depression (i know Germany but I'm about 80% sure on America). But you can tell when its not only a loosing war, but an unnecessary war when we are loosing money because of it, yet our borders are untouched.

our country continuously jumps in head first with the idea of protection from wmd's...like they did with Iran...only to find out they don't exist...yet what puzzles me is why then aren't we getting attacked for our nukes...oh that's right b/c other counties make sure their claims are founded...I think the war is horrid...I do support our troops and agree that now we have an obligation to be in Iraq...this is a country we've destroyed twice previously leaving empty promises of fixing it...leaving now would be severing ties for ever...but I think business needs to be handled...preferably partitioning of the country...and we need to get out...any death for our country is bold and should be held to high accords, but it most certainly is not a "necessary cost"...

:-&This war didn't make sense on so many levels.

War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.

JIMMY CARTER, Nobel Lecture, Dec. 10, 2002

WW11 was a necessary evil, Iraq was a political move....apparently a bad and costly one. (In terms of life and funds!)
