Has anyone else wondered about the impact the internet has had on music? I know I have. It seems nowadays it is somewhat easier to make it big as an artist than it was before. Thanks to sites like purevolume and myspace, artists can spread their songs and information much quicker than trying to pass out mixtapes at shows, even though some still do this. Although it might seem good I also think there is a downfall.
Although bands might have it easier to make it big, it makes the music scene seem artificial. Such as bands coming in and out of the music scene, it makes it look like we can just recycle bands. There is no more originality in the music industry. Agree or disagree?

While it's true that originality has laxed, it's because record industries look for what sells. And what sells isn't what's orginal, it's what was original and others reproduced. It's good that bands can get their music out there for no charge so that they can have a larger following. But just because you have a band with a page on myspace doesn't mean you're going to get a record deal.
Being an artist can be easy now cuz of myspace but what is people don't like your music? and it's better to pass out mixTapes to people on shows cuz you never know who is in the Music industry
I think the internet has hurt the industry as well. Pirating music has made a profound impact on the music world, and the internet has made this easier.
