Voting Registration

Ancient Romae's picture

I finally sent my voter's registration the other day. I would have done it sooner, but I wasn't pre-registred in the 2004 elections. Thus I couldn't vote in the elections even though I turned 18 ys 5 days before the election. Kinda sucks, but I didn't know it. I was a dumb senior in highschool. Well.... I told my roomie that I registered to vote finally, and she yelled at me for not putting the county I go to school in as my county to vote in. Thus Broward County is on my card rather than Leon county where I go to school. I didn't think it was such a big deal because my State Identification card says Broward County, so I thought my voters' registration had to be Broward County. I figured I'd get an absentee ballot come the 2008 elections.

Then I had an epiphany. Most people have no idea what they are voting for. Last week, news about John Edwards' wife's cancer returned and I said it was sad. My roomate had no idea who he was. Then she mentioned Hillary Clinton saying something along the lines of " I don't like her, something about her I don't like...." , a personal problem when she has no freakin' clue what Hillary stands for.  Then we hear that Obama is coming to Tallahassee to speak, and she says she would protest just because she can. How retarded! She is an avid Republican with supporting the war in Iraq, even though like five of her hometown buddies were sent there. She is so dumb with politics it isn't funny, she wanted Jeb Bush to run for President, and I almost died. Bad enough we have his brother and dad for president, lets not make it a Bush Clan effort to win total control of the White House.

Another thing I would like to know is what the canidates stand for, without media bias or mudslinging, or political propoganda. Their true beliefs and what their goals are for government and how they are going to attempt to achieve them.
