Target has reassigned Muslim cashiers who for reglious reasons refuse to scan pork products such as bacon.

Some Muslim cashiers who were uncomfortable ringing up pork would call over other employees and have them ring up the product, or would ask the customers to do it themselves. Customers complained and Target has reassigned the Muslim employees to other jobs with in the store.

In my opinion Target did the right thing. They were right not fire the employees who wouldn’t scan the pork but also form the business stand point they couldn’t let the cashiers who wouldn’t ring up the items be ringing – It would slow down the customer service and take longer for transactions to happen. Which would cause Target to loose business. I believe that Target handled the situation the best that could. The reassigning was a good idea the employees still have a job and target customers can continue their shopping complete with pork items.

Target definitely was not in the wrong; in fact, no one was in the wrong. I understand that certain people do not like doing certain things for religious reasons. How can I blame them for their beliefs. I am just thankful that Target did not fire them. That shows me Target is tolerant, and that is good. It also keeps them from getting a "black eye" by making the decision they made.
