Poem I wrote some time ago, for a love that was not meant to be.
Golden firelight strips away the façade
Masks cast aside by the light of candles
Hungry arms reach out for one another, fingers aching for a touch
Soft lips met one another, breath mixed as they merge into one another
Orbs of quivering sapphire drown within gems of dark emerald
Decadent silks and fine linens peel from their bodies, passion in their motion
The candlelight keeps back swallowing darkness, the lovers intertwined
Flesh cradles flesh, cries of love breath out in gasps
A contract of eternity, pledged in sweat and sealed in ink of ruby
Soft words exchanged in the glimmering twilight, lips met once again
Their spirits joined, their minds linked, their flesh coupled
The sweetness of their hearts drank deeply by one another.
