ok, so everyone seems to have a different reason for having their opinion on everything. And, subsequently, I have mine. One strong topic of debate is abortion. Should it be allowed? I think not. When a girl decides to have sex, and gets pregnant, she shouldn't have the right to take away that child's right to live. It is her fault she got pregnant, not the kid's. I mean, seriously, in some murder cases, if someone kills a pregnant woman, they can be charged wih tw muders. The murder of the woman, and for that of the unborn kid. Now, maybe that women was on her way to have an abortion. Had she ived, andgone through with the vile murder of an innocent child, she would not have been charged of murder. However, murder is what she committed. If she didn't want the kid, she should have used birth control or something. Or, she could have just chosen not to have sex. I mean, honestly, is it a women's right to kill an innocent child, even though it is unborn? Some doctors claim that a child is not alive untill it first breathes air. I beg to differ. From what I know, children are technically alive once they have blood flowing through their veins. Now, if a women was to get pregnant unwantedly, she should have the kid, then give it up for adoption. Much kinder to the child then adopton. I think abortion is nothing more than cleverly disguised murder. But, like all opinions, you will no doubt have a different ne, or if you also think it is wrong, you will have different reasons as to why it is wrong.
Abortion: murder, or freedom of choice?

Although I agree with you about the concept that if a girl gets pregnant because she had sex unprotected or not, that she should not have the right to have an abortion, UNLESS the pregnancy would cause devastating results (ie. death of mother and/or child).
But when it comes to the point where a woman is raped and becomes pregnant I think she should have the choice to choose if she wants to keep that child or not.
i agree. i am arguing the case of when she chooses to have sex. if she is raped, or she will ide due to being pregnant, then yes, she has the right to abortion. however, i still think it is wrong. but, in these extreme cases, it is not murder.
If I was raped I wouldn't want the slime's seed growing inside me. Is it the woman's choice to be raped? Or what if the woman's life is at stake during the pregnacy, should she go full term and possibly die when she had the option to terminate and save her life, giving her an opportunity to concieve again?
Sure some women get abortions for selfish reasons but you have to look at the bigger picture here.

i agree fully on the abortion should not be allowed. if a girl gets pregnant then it is her fault. she could have said no, she could have used a condom, or birth control. in any situation she and the boy could have been safer. However on the part about being rapped, i believe the woman should have the choice to have an abortion. sex is about conciving a child with love, but when a woman is rapped, that child is not concived out of love. the woman should be able to choose if she wants to have that baby or if she wants to have an abortion because she would be reminded everyday of how that child was concived. her screaming "NO, STOP IT. STOP IT. HELP. SOMEBODY HELP ME" personally i wouldnt be able to deal with something like that. i would not be able to look at the child. now some people can. and thats why i believe that woman should have a choice to abortion ONLY and ONLY when it comes to being rapped.
Just curious...
What is the percentage of rape cases that result in pregnancy?

after doing research, i found a site that states that 1 in 20 women who are raped become pregnant (5%). for me, that seems like a lot of people. i cant even begin to imagine what those women have to go through, even if they don't keep the baby.

i support the use of abortion because its a personal right. i dont agree with people who use abortion as a means of birth control, but its still their right. i dont believe the baby is a baby until the third trimester, when doctors say that the baby can feel pain. i know that a lot of people disagree with me, and i respect your opinins as i would hope you would respect mine.
if we outlaw abortion, then we are sending a message that we, as a nation, support the restriction of civil rights. you can argue that the unborn baby has civil rights as well, but the baby is not reconized by the government or given an idententy (sp?) until after it is born. also if abortion is outlawed, coat hanger abortions will become very common again and will result in the deaths of many women.
now i leave you with a true event that happened to my mother. she had protected sex with her boyfriend at the age of 15. the condom broke and she got pregnant. she decided to get an abortion, having her boyfriends mom go with her, because she knew that if she told her abusive father that she was pregnant she would get beaten so hard that she would problity loose the baby and then get kicked out. would you say that she cant get an abortion, even though the baby would have died anyway and she would have been severly hurt and thrown out of her house?
