So it's been a while since I posted something other than comments. Feeling a lil guilty about that....
Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with all of you. Those of you who hate Christians and Christianity might as well just not even read this blog. I'm thrilled because a few weeks ago, I started a prayer group at my public high school. My Campus Life director was kind of dreaming out loud at one of our meetings and said that he would love to see a group of about 30 kids who met without and adult forcing them to every morning to have a short prayer before school. Some of the other students said, "It might work." Others said, "It'd never float." Then, God poked me in the head and told me, "I want you to start it." So I plucked up the courage and announced a time and place to meet, starting the next day. I called it STEP: Students Trusting the Eternal Power. I was absolutely amazed to see how quickly it grew. We had over 20 people on the second day. This morning, 34 students stood up and said, "I'm not afraid to pray in a public school." One student threatened us at the end of the second week. He walked past, shouting, "You're all gonna die!" I don't know whether he was serious or not, but I added a silent prayer for him.
It's been amazing to me to see how God can still move in public schools. I encourage all my fellow Christians to start a group like this at their school. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I didn't know at first whether it would take off at my school or just die, but it's been incredible. It doesn't need to be anything huge; just set a time and place and have like a minute long prayer. I usually thank God for bringing us safely to school and ask Him to bless us as we go through the day. It's nothing huge, but it's easy to feel His presence every morning. Go for it; what do you have to lose?
God bless, and good luck!

Well, I hope it works out for you. And, hey, the kid is right. Eventually, everyone does die.

That's a good point about everybody eventually dying...
And to the OP, it was really pathetic of that kid to "threaten" you. I'm not a big religion person, but I admire you for standing up for your beliefs as long as you're not forcing them on others.
