Movie Theatre Rant . . . . . .

SeanDonnelly's picture

I went to the movie theatre a couple of days ago to see the movie "Shutter". I did not like the movie and i barely remember it at all. The reason being is that their were very rude people in the theatre along with me and my friend. If I remember correctly it was mainly a teenage boy and about five of his girlfriends. He was always yelling and pushing the back of their seats to try to scare them just to be annoying I think. The girls very also very loud and using their cell phones, one of them actually called someone in the theatre while the movie was playing. Along with them, their were some other young ladys being loud and saying things like "oh my god dont go in there", "crazy bitch what are you doing", and "girl get out of there". Things of that nature, ill admit at first it was funny but then it got to be very annoying. Also their were some young gentlemen to my left that would just yell in spanish and say very rude things just because no one could understant them. That is what they though i guess, because normally you wouldnt say these things. I knew what they were saying because i speak many languages spanish being one of them. I dont want to repeat what they said, because its not something i want to put in a blog about me talking about rude people. Well all of this continued on through the entire movie. It got to a point were everyone was yelling at everyone telling them to shut up. Well finally at the last fifteen minutes of the movie a police officer came into the movie theatre and sat in the middle, so it was very quite and no one said a word the rest of the movie. It was a little to late because i didnt even remember what was going on. The whole point of this to just to ask those people who are trying to be funny in the movie theatre by saying things, acting certain ways, or if you just do these things without knowing. Please dont it really ruins the movie for a lot of people and please turn your phone off, I take my friends phones before we go into the movie theatre because they text during the movie.

HAHA! ok im done with my rant lol so if you have a intresting story please tell :)

It seems to be that some people think that they are funny enough that people won't mind them talking during the movie, and this isn't the case! I agree with you, some people just don't know when to be quiet.

..so did the cop get a free showing?

I love movies, so much so that I plan to make them in the future, so I hate it when people talk through them. It's like a theatrical (stage) experience and it is certainly not accepted to be so rude.

You want a story? I've got a little one. Last summer I was lucky enough to go to London with my aunt and uncle. On the premiere of the 5th Harry Potter movie we went to the famous Odeon theatre. It was incredible, huge, and just so surreal. However...there was this family behind us who wouldn't stop babbling in whatever language they were speaking. It was quite annoying, and several people in my row had to yell at this family. I wish they were speaking Spanish, cuz then I could've come up with a complaint in Spanish and they'd have no excuse to not listen!

Thank you for the comment . . . . When I saw the Harry Potter movie I got there like i did at every movie 10 mins before it started(this was the midnight premiere I bought the tickets a week early). BIG MISTAKE! I had to seat at the VERY front all the way on the side :(..... and it was one of the super huge screens. That sucked haha

Ouch! It is very difficult to look up at those huge screens when you're that close! Why do people even PUT seats there?!

don't worry. they're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

I remember when I went to see Reno 911 (not my pick) and they ticket cashier thought we were going to sneak people in. So here we all are, watching the movie which has already begun, and some employee comes sits next to me and tells us "everyone in the building knows you aren't supposed to be here, so you need to just leave"

I was appalled, and told him I was 17. He told me that my age didn't matter if I didn't have a ticket, so I pulled out my ticket and showed it to him. He went on to check all my my friends' tickets too. It totally ruined my afternoon, he was just so rude! I left and complained to the manager, which was a whole ordeal in its own, but at least I ended up with a free movie ticket :)
