I am taking a sociology class in my highschool and we are doing a huge project in which we are to look at a big problem in todays society, study the causes, effects, taking place of, factors, and results. My group has chosen "exploitation of women". This topic, slightly touchy and controversial without a doubt, hopefully will provide all of society with a new view on women in todays society. It is already believed that many women are abused, harrassed, double standard, and mistreated, but does anyone have a reason or solution for this. Many blame it on men- how they treat us women, yet our project is leading to also show that women play a large role in this. We are looking at media and advertisment influences, restaurants (such as hooters), job place, promiscuous dress and actions, and pornography. I am going to post a few questions that i would like you to answer as a part of our research. (a survey if you will)
1. What started or lead to the desencitization when it comes to acceptable dress, and actions of women, and also comments from men.
2. Do women who dress more suggestivly have an advantage in a working enviornment?
3. Is pornography the fault of men or women? and who can stop it?
4. is there a way to stop the exploitation, and if so, how?
These are just a few starters, in a few days i will post some more. Any opinions would be greatly helpful, so please offer your ideas, opinions, and suggestions.

1. What started or lead to the desencitization when it comes to acceptable dress, and actions of women, and also comments from men.
I believe the desencitization began to occur becuase women felt it was part of their rights. They felt it was their body and therefore could dress any way they want. Women now feel that they need to show a good amount of skin to be seen as sexy. but the line between sexy and tasteless has dissapeared.
2. Do women who dress more suggestivly have an advantage in a working enviornment?
I think women who dress more risque do have an advantage but not one to be proud about. When a woman sexually uses her body to promote herself, she lessens the amount that people respect her. Also then, men just want her for her body.
3. Is pornography the fault of men or women? and who can stop it?
I dont think either is at fault. I dont see that porn plays a significant part in the exploitation of women. They are not usually commen men and women who portray images for the masses. It isnt seen by everyone and isnt real life.
4. is there a way to stop the exploitation, and if so, how?
I belive the only way to stop it is for the women to respect themselves. If you respect yourself, dont show the entire world every assest you possess. Have a little modesty and leave something up to the imagination. Dont let anyone get the idea that you are an object to be used.

1. What started or lead to the desencitization when it comes to acceptable dress, and actions of women, and also comments from men. I'm not sure, I believe that multiple causes can be credited.
2. Do women who dress more suggestivly have an advantage in a working enviornment? No
3. Is pornography the fault of men or women? and who can stop it?
I don't see pornography as a problem, nor do I see it being the result of any fault. Pornography is a mode of expression and sexuality that can be healthy if it is used properly.
4. is there a way to stop the exploitation, and if so, how?
Exploitation of women? Yes, higher security standards, education, and tougher laws on trafficking could deter it.
