Hate putting effort into anything that you do? Hate having to expend energy and time cooking for your loved ones? Have no fear, Organic Batter Blaster Pancake & Waffle Batter in a can is here!
The commercial for Batter Blaster proclaims that it will save you from "all that mess" of making pancakes the old fashioned way--with bowls, ingredients and maybe a single bead of sweat. But, with pancake batter in a can, all you have to do is "just shake, point, blast and cook--it's that easy!"
Although it would be difficult for any piece of the internet to be more off-putting than such an awkward commercial, Batter Blaster's website is almost as confounding. Just opening the homepage, the viewer sees the word "organic" five times on the screen--granted, three of those are from cans of Batter Blaster, the USDA Organic logo is enough to evoke the irony of the Batter Blaster itself.
Not only is this a product that totally exemplifies the American attitude of "waste all, want all," but it does so in a supposedly earth-conscious fashion. If this item were not organic, would it appeal to the granola demographic? No way--it's a wasteful, ridiculous idea for a product, and (hopefully) those who are worried about sustainable farming would also be concerned about the excesses of consumerism. By making the Batter Blaster organic, however, the creators opened their market to tree-huggers and typical shoppers alike. Mighty clever marketing skill, and mighty American; it's another example of the "green fad" being used to bring in the bucks.
More power to the green fad, in all its uselessness. If only Batter Blasters were vegan so I could save five minutes and use more steel next time I wanted waffles.

O.o
What is this nation coming to?
Another thing you forgot to mention, though.
Making pancakes can be a wonderful bonding experience between parent and child.
How dare they try to eliminate bonding with parents! Children today need more time to spend with their parents, not less!
Gah!
And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.
Exactly! What child didn't love stirring the batter? Whisks are way fun, even if using a cool squirt thing looks like fun, too.
amerika!
they were making and giving out samples of those in the local grocery store a few months ago. They were actually pretty tasty, but I like making waffles and pancakes on my own. The only thing I want to buy in a point and shoot can is the cool whip that goes on top of them. ;-)
