Discrimination, how much farther will we let this go. I'm 16 years old and an average student. No criminal record, and I'm rarely ever in trouble. Me and my friends went to Little Caesars for lunch. Well we hadn't talked about what kind of pizza we were going to get and so were at the front of the line with NO ONE behind us and my friend says lets get pepperoni and ofcourse i objected because im a vegetarian and the cashier said "will you hurry up" and so i said "ok can we just get cheese please" to my friend and the cashier goes "come on its not that hard cheese or pepperoni". So we settled on cheese. I'm not in trouble often and I don't deserve to be treated as a second class citizen just because I'm only 16!
Not only does discrimination happen with age, but with gender as well. Due to this extremity in discrimination t.v. has taken a stance. As you have probably seen more and more t.v. shows promoting women. Desperate Housewives has a female dominated block with underlying husbands who just step out of the way. Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia, to newer shows both showing women in higher up positions. Not only showing that women can hold high positions like men can but also that women are often discriminated against in the work place. The woman helped to seal the deal on a high money case and the guy gets the promotion.
And to take it a step further not only in gender but again in race! Now I'm as white as they get but i notice that a lot of the ways other people act about race effect even me. I notice that African American kids at my school treat me different just cause I'm white. Even the Mexican Americans treat me different. I get different service if I go out to eat.
So i would like to understand why age matters, age is simply a number, infact the number of days to which you have been alone outside of your mothers womb. Gender, you don't choose female or male. Race like a wise poet once said "were all the same when you turn out the light." So if you turn off the lights we all look the same you cant tell any sort of difference so why should it be when the lights are on that all the sudden we are of different species almost? We are all human!
Case and point discrimination has reached an alarming rate, we abolished slavery now lets abolish all discrimination! Equals all in all!
